VIPilates Classical Pilates Academy, part of the VIPilates Studios, offers The Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training programme designed by Kirk James Smith, a second-generation Pilates teacher with over 25 years of industry experience.

Kirk is a certified teacher from The Classical Pilates Centre, UK, and was taught by Romana Kryzanowska, a protégé of Joseph Pilates, as well as first-generation teachers Jay Grimes and Mary Bowen. The Comprehensive Teacher Training Programme, taught by Sarah Janes, delivers a rigorous and student centred course that equips students with all the necessary knowledge and practical skills to become a certified Classical Pilates teacher.

Teacher Trainer, Sarah Janes, has a wealth of experience in teaching Pilates. All the course content is delivered at our sister studio, VIPilates Classical Studio in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield. This all-encompassing course covers Pilates principles, anatomy, teaching methodology, and practical training on Pilates equipment and exercises. It is designed for individuals who are passionate about Pilates and committed to becoming certified Pilates teachers.

To enrol in this Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training programme, you must competently execute the Intermediate Mat routine as defined in the syllabus.

Upon enrolment, you will also become an associate member of The Birmingham Pilates Studios and its sister studio, VIPilates Classical Studio. This membership provides you with unlimited access to self-practice sessions in a practical learning environment. You will have the opportunity to train on the finest Classical Gratz apparatus, allowing you to master the practical aspects of the course to become a highly skilled and competent instructor.
