Learn your footwork and basic exercises. Remember that just because they are called basic – it doesn’t mean that they are necessarily easy – they can be massive challenges!
It does mean that all the exercises are done in secure positions – only one requires holding the Reformer with hands and feet only: “Elephant”. All the other exercises are lying down, sitting & holding and kneeling on all fours. There are no inversions, standing or kneeling up exercises.
Basic also means that the exercises don’t have complex movements. Either the spine is moving around stable limbs, or the limbs are moving around a stable spine. There are no combinations of these two – the shape of the spine is kept the same throughout the exercise.
