Pre-Pilates: Spinal Mobility & Strengthening – Hip Dips

Foundations: Spinal Mobility & Strengthening

Quick Intro: Hip Dips

I like to think of this type of exercise as an “anti-side bend but anti-rotational” exercise, in contrast to “Typewriter” which is an “side bend but anti-rotation” exercise.

What’s it good for?

🌟 The objective here is to increase spinal mobility, control and strength.

A quick “how to”…

Title

🌟 Drop one hip, and then the other, allowing the spine to rotate.
🌟 Try with a “flat back” and then try with a curved spine.  Which is more challenging for you?

Hints & Tips:

🌟  Keep the movement on each side the same.
