Seal Puppy

– #pilates4life2020: #30 of 31 exercises

What’s it good for?

Having fun!!! 🙂

A Quick Guide to Seal Puppy

💡 Imagine that your spine is the arc of a ball, wheel or a hoop that retains its curve as it rolls. This will help you get a smooth rolling movement.
💡 If you have difficulty with this exercise, continue practising Rollin Like a Ball.
💡 If you lack balance or coordination, start with your knees further away from your shoulders, arms outside your upper thighs and hands holding your thighs just above your knees.

Joe Pilates on “rolling” exercises

💬 “Whenever you read the word “rolling” in the the exercises, be sure to hold your chin pressed tightly against your chest and when you rise, “roll” and “unroll” you spne exactly in imitation of a wheel rolling backward and forward. Vertebra by vertebra try to “roll” and “unroll” as suggested.” Joe Pilates (1945)
